Child Okeford
LOST on 15th May, possibly in the church at Child Okeford - a ladies' ring - a small band with a band of ruby - of great sentimental value. If found, please let the Rector know.  Thank you.

On Tuesday 14th May, we welcomed the visit of the Pilgrim Walkers.  Thank you to all the ladies who provided a delicious tea.

Shillingstone
For those people who wish to have an article inserted in to the June/July 2013 issue of the Shillingstone Parish Magazine, the deadline is noon this coming Thursday 23rd May 2013.  Thank you.

HELP PLEASE:
Volunteers are still desperately needed from the Holy Rood congregation for the tasks of Sidesmen and Coffee in Holy Rood Church.  Should you feel you could help with these tasks, please give your names to Diana and she will explain what the task entails and then include your names on the Rotas.  Thank you in anticipation!

Coming up
On Sunday 19th May at 10am the Pilgrim Covenant Renewal Service will be held in St Mary’s Church, Sturminster Newton with the Bishop of Salisbury, Bishop Nicholas.

ADVANCE NOTICE – ‘DOGS WITHOUT COLLARS IN SHAFTESBURY’ – Friday 19th July 7.30pm- 10.30pm Shaston Social Club. This will be the very last opportunity to sing and dance along to the Dorset all-vicars rock group – ‘Dogs Without Collars,’ which includes Rev Clive from Shaftesbury as drummer - as this is the last gig in their farewell “Don’t put me down” Tour. Funds raised will support our Blackmore Vale Deanery and Diocesan link with Lui in South Sudan. The group will disband after this gig as Clive and his colleagues go their different ways in serving the Lord. Tickets will be on sale soon from the Shaftesbury Team Office. NO age limit! To find out more go to www.dogswithoutcollars.com It would be great if our Deanery could support our Lui project while enjoying a great night out together.
It is a fundamental duty and a joy of being a Christian to share one another’s burdens in prayer, and come in the Spirit of Christ before God our Father, as we plead for the Church, the World, the Community and the Suffering.

In some of our churches you will find little Prayer Cards on which you may ask for a prayer on behalf of someone else or yourself. These will be used during Daily Prayer or may be incorporated in Intercessions at Worship on Sundays.

The Rector is always happy to visit people in the Benefice, whatever the reason.   Please let him know on 01258 861847 if you would like a visit.

All enquiries relating to Weddings, Baptism and Funerals should be directed to the Rector.

Can you give a lift to someone in your parish to enable them to share in the Benefice Eucharist? There may be someone who would appreciate the offer.

The Benefice Office in the Shillingstone Church Centre is open on Mondays and Wednesdays 10am to 2.00pm and Fridays noon to 4.00pm

The office is equipped with post trays for various individuals and Parishes.  These are ONLY accessible during Benefice Office opening hours as is 01258 860652. Please contact Diana J Lewis, Benefice Administrator.   okefordbenefice@btconnect.com
