Next Thursday, 1 March, is the first Thursday of the month and therefore the day that prayers will be said under the etched window in Shillingstone School, praying in the school for the school. Prayer Boxes are out in church and school and if you would like to make a particular prayer for the school, please put it in the box by 12.00 noon on 1 March. All are welcome at this brief and informal time.

The Revd Darren A’Court Has been appointed our new Priest-in-Charge/Rector Designate and he takes up the post at February half-term and will be licensed on 8 March - this will be at a special service at Holy Rood Church, Shillingstone at 7.30pm on Thursday 8th March. Darren's first service will be at St Nicholas Church, Child Okeford on Sunday 11th March at 10.00am and will be a special Benefice Eucharist. We look forward with great pleasure in being able to welcome Darren, his wife Jeanette and their three children to our parishes. From Revd William Ridding The Bishop of Salisbury, the Right Reverend
Nicholas Holtam, has invited Colette Annesley-Gamester to be an assistant
curate in the Benefice of Spire Hill.
Colette is currently training at Westcott House, Cambridge and will come to the benefice
towards the end of June 2012. She will
be ordained deacon at Salisbury Cathedral on 29 September 2012. Colette is married to Jonathan Harding, an
Army Education Officer who is currently working at Blandford Camp with the
Royal Signals. William Ridding, Rector
of Spire Hill, and the parishes of the benefice are looking forward to
welcoming Colette and Jonathan and sharing with Colette in her training to be a
priest in the church.
